Detection Principle and Maintenance of PID Gas Detectors
① To detect combustible gas, the detector must be exposed to the test environment. It is inevitable that polluting gases and dust in the environment enter the detector and cause damage to working conditions. Combustible gas detectors often work in harsh environments, and many are installed outdoors. Poor maintenance will lead to measurement deviation or detection failure of the combustible gas alarm. Therefore, regular cleaning and maintenance of combustible gas detectors are vital to prevent malfunctions.
② Earthing shall be inspected periodically. Substandard earthing or missing earthing makes the combustible gas detector vulnerable to electromagnetic interference and results in faults. ③ Prevent failures caused by component aging. In terms of reliability and practical experience, systems of PID gas detectors with a service life exceeding 10 years suffer from an increasing number of faults due to component aging. Equipment whose service life exceeds the specified requirement shall be replaced in a timely manner.
