Difference between fluorescence and laser confocal microscopy
Different principles
1, fluorescence microscope: ultraviolet light as a light source, used to irradiate the object to be examined, so that it emits fluorescence, and then observe the shape of the object and its location under the microscope.
2, laser confocal microscope: in the fluorescence microscope image on the basis of the addition of laser scanning device, the use of ultraviolet light or visible light to stimulate the fluorescent probe.
Different characteristics
1, fluorescence microscope: used to study the absorption of substances in the cell, transport, distribution and localisation of chemical substances. Some substances in the cell, such as chlorophyll, can fluoresce after irradiation by ultraviolet light; some other substances itself can not fluoresce, but if stained with fluorescent dyes or fluorescent antibodies, fluorescence can also fluoresce by ultraviolet light irradiation.
2,Laser confocal microscope: Use computer for image processing, so as to get the fluorescence image of the internal microstructure of cells or tissues, as well as in the subcellular level to observe such as Ca2+, pH, membrane potential and other physiological signals and cellular morphology changes.
