Digital multimeter - how to quickly test whether the fuse of the multimeter is good or bad?
In order to ensure the safety of instruments and users, it is particularly important to choose a suitable and safe fuse. Fluke multimeters are equipped with high-energy, ultra-high-speed response original fuses to ensure that in the event of an accident, the instrument can quickly shield possible dangers. Fluke Genuine Fuses have been designed to meet or exceed the stringent requirements of international safety standards.
1. Rated voltage 1000V, 11A fuse breaking capacity 20KA. The original high-energy fuse can not only fuse under continuous rated current, but also immediately fuse under high instantaneous current, ensuring fast response and safety
2. Ceramic tube packaging, strong arc extinguishing ability and high reliability. The specially designed original high-energy fuse is filled with sand. When the energy and temperature causing explosion are generated, the sand melts, absorbs energy and isolates the air needed for explosion and combustion.
Hazards of using the wrong fuse:
Meter burnt; test leads melted; casualties.
Would rather not have a fuse than install a normal one!
How to quickly detect whether the fuse is good or bad?
Turn the multimeter to the "Ω" gear, use only one test lead, insert the plug into the Ω jack, and use the pen tip to respectively insert into the "A" and "mA/uA" jacks. If there is a reading, it means that the fuse is damaged. Good ("A" jack reading should be 0-0.5Ω, "mA/uA" jack reading should be about 10KΩ), if "OL" is displayed, it means that the fuse is burnt.
