Digital Multimeter User Guide

Digital multimeters mainly have commonly used measurement functions such as DC voltage, DC current, AC voltage, AC current, resistance, circuit on/off testing, diode testing, etc; With the development of electronic technology, multimeters have many application functions such as data storage, data transmission, and oscilloscope. Some of them have developed into professional application fields, including power meters for power testing, leakage current testers, insulation resistance testers, infrared thermometers used in industrial and mining industries, noise meters for environmental testing, anemometers, etc. Taking the UT136B handheld ordinary digital multimeter from Ulide Company as an example, let's talk about the knowledge of using a multimeter. UT136B is a 3L/2-digit digital multimeter, but in addition to voltage, current, and resistance testing functions, it also has capacitance, frequency, diode, on/off buzzer, automatic range, and clear gear settings.

Measurement of AC and DC voltage:
Place the power switch in the ON position, and turn the range switch to DCV (DC) or ACV (AC) as needed. Insert the red probe into the V/Ω hole and the black probe into the COM hole. Then connect the two probes to the measured point, and the voltage of the measured point will be directly displayed on the LCD monitor. When measuring the current voltage of instruments and meters, a black probe should be used to contact the low potential terminal of the measured voltage (such as the common ground terminal of the signal generator or the casing), in order to reduce measurement errors. The automatic range multimeter does not need to consider manual range conversion. It can measure 380V and 220V in one gear, which is simple, clear, and easy to understand, preventing misoperation.

Resistance measurement:
Insert the red probe into the V/Ω hole and the black probe into the COM hole. Then connect the two probes to the two ends of the backside resistor, and the resistance value of the measured resistor will be directly displayed on the LCD screen display

On/off test:
Insert the red probe into the V/Ω hole and the black probe into the COM hole. Connect the probe to both ends of the tested circuit, and if it is on or off, the buzzer will sound.

Capacitance test:
1. Discharge the capacitor (especially large capacity electrolytic capacitors must be discharged first), otherwise it will burn out the multimeter. Insert the red probe into the V/Ω hole and the black probe into the COM hole, and connect the capacitor for measurement.
