Do you know the inspection standards for gas detectors?
Gas detectors can be used to detect gases produced in industrial applications, but their detection function may be affected by usage time, in which case they should be checked regularly.
Gas detector inspection standards
1. Check the appearance and other items
We can observe whether there are any problems with the gas detector during transportation or assembly by checking its appearance. We can inspect the appearance of the gas detector for defects, cracks, or damage, and check whether the overall structure of the instrument is complete. And it is necessary to check the machine model, label, manufacturer name, factory time, and instructions of the gas detector to ensure consistency with the manufacturer's information. In addition, it is also necessary to check the explosion-proof mark, measurement license mark, and instrument number of the instrument. Before purchasing the instrument, it is generally possible to request the manufacturer to provide them.
2. Power on inspection
The gas detector needs to be connected to a power source during operation. Generally, the instrument is powered by a built-in battery. Before using the instrument, the switch can be turned on to check whether the power status is normal. The gas detector can work by replacing the battery or equipping a charger. The gas detector equipped with a charger needs to test whether its charger can charge normally before use. When the instrument is in the power status, the display screen of the gas detector can be checked for normal display.
3. Check if the sound and light alarm function of the instrument is normal
Some gas detectors have sound and light alarm functions. Due to the use of battery power, when the battery is in an undervoltage display state, there should be a clear difference between the alarm signal emitted by the instrument under normal power supply.
