Does environmental temperature have a significant impact on infrared thermometers

When using infrared temperature measurement to measure the temperature of an object, we inevitably have to consider external factors. The obvious one belongs to the environment. There are some new technologies of its own in terms of environmental conditions. Let's talk about some of the effects of environmental conditions on thermometers.

The environmental conditions in which infrared temperature measurement is conducted have a significant impact on the measurement results, and should be taken into consideration and appropriately addressed, otherwise it may affect the accuracy of temperature measurement and even cause damage to the thermometer.

1, The influence of environmental temperature on the performance of infrared thermometers
The ambient temperature can be divided into two situations: one is the measured environment of the target, and the other is the ambient temperature of the residence of the infrared thermometer. If the background temperature of the tested target is higher than or close to the temperature of the tested target, it will have an impact on the measurement results. When the ambient temperature of the infrared thermometer's residence exceeds the range that the thermometer can withstand, it will also have an impact on the temperature measurement results.

2, The influence of humid environment on the performance of infrared thermometer
A humid environment can cause internal short circuits in the thermometer, thereby affecting the measurement results.

3, On site factors of temperature measurement by thermometer:
(1) Measure the angle to ensure it is within the allowable range;

(2) Is it aimed correctly

(3) Is the selected spectral range (wavelength) appropriate? For measuring targets inside containers with glass windows, the spectral range cannot be selected from 8-14 μ m, but should be around 1 μ m;

4, Measurement of targets in strong light backgrounds:
If the target being measured has a relatively bright background light (such as sunlight or strong direct light), the accuracy of the measurement will also be affected. Therefore, an object can be used to block the strong light of the direct target to eliminate the influence of background light interference on the measurement results.

To reduce the impact of environmental and background radiation on temperature measurement results, the following measures should be taken:

1, Try to use it indoors or outdoors in a cool and shaded area. For indoor equipment, turn off the direct lighting and avoid other radiation effects.

2, For high reflection equipment surfaces, changing the detection angle can be used to find a good angle to avoid reflection for detection.

3, To reduce the radiation impact of solar radiation and the surrounding high-temperature background, shielding measures can be taken during detection.
