Metallographic microscope is mainly used for identifying and analyzing the internal structure and organization of metals. It is an important instrument for metallographic research and a key equipment for industrial departments to evaluate product quality. The instrument is equipped with a camera device, which can capture metallographic diagrams, measure and analyze the diagrams, and edit, output, store, and manage the images.

Metallographic microscope is a high-tech product developed by combining optical microscope technology, photoelectric conversion technology, and computer image processing technology. It can easily observe metallographic images on a computer, analyze and grade metallographic maps, and output and print images. As is well known, the composition of alloys, heat treatment processes, and cold and hot processing processes directly affect the internal organization and structural changes of metal materials, thereby causing changes in the mechanical properties of the components. Therefore, using a metallographic microscope to observe, inspect, and analyze the internal microstructure of metals is an important means in industrial production.

Metallographic microscopes mainly consist of optical systems, lighting systems, mechanical systems, and accessory devices (including photography or other devices such as microhardness).

Based on the light reflection characteristics of different tissue components on the surface of metal samples, optical studies were conducted using a microscope in the visible light range to qualitatively and quantitatively describe these tissue components. It can display the characteristics of metal microstructure within a scale of 500-0.2m. As early as 1841, the Russians( п.п.Ансов) I studied the patterns on the Damascus steel sword under a magnifying glass. By 1863, the British (H.C. Sorby) transplanted the methods of petrography, including sample preparation, polishing, and etching techniques, to the study of steel, developed metallographic techniques, and later produced a batch of low magnification metallographic photos of other tissues. The scientific practices of Soby and his contemporaries, the Germans (A. Martens) and the French (F. Osmond), laid the foundation for modern optical metallographic microscopy. By the early 20th century, optical metallographic microscopy had gradually improved and was widely promoted for the microscopic analysis of metals and alloys. It remains a fundamental technology in the field of metallurgy to this day.

Metallographic microscope is a type of microscope that uses visible light as an illumination source. Discrete and horizontal, [optical microscope a vertical microscope b horizontal microscope]. They all include optical amplification, lighting, and mechanical systems.

The amplification system is the key to affecting the use and quality of microscopes. Mainly composed of objective lenses and eyepieces.
