Oscilloscopes are used to display voltage waveforms and their core component is the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope consists of an electron gun, a Y-deflection plate, an X-deflection plate, and a fluorescent screen, and uses an electronic switch to periodically rotate the two voltage signals to be measured, YCH1 and YCH2, onto the Y-deflection plate. Due to the visual hysteresis effect, two waveforms can be seen on the fluorescent screen.
Working Principle of Double Trace Oscilloscope
The electron gun is heated by the filament and emits electrons. The focusing electrode focuses the electrons emitted by the electron gun into a very fine electron beam, which makes the waveform display clear. The accelerating pole has a high positive voltage to attract electrons from the electron gun to move at a high speed; the display has a high positive voltage to attract electrons to hit the display surface to make the display surface coated with fluorescent material to emit light. Vertical deflection plate and horizontal deflection plate with deflection voltage, the polarity and amplitude of the deflection voltage to control the position of the electron beam impact on the display surface. The polarity and amplitude of the deflection voltage control the position of the electron beam hitting the surface of the display. When the deflection voltage follows the change of the input signal, the electron beam can be made to "draw" a signal waveform on the surface of the screen. Dual trace oscilloscopes have two inputs, allowing two voltage signals to be simultaneously connected for display. Inside the oscilloscope, the input signal will be amplified, the use of electronic switches will be the two input signals rotating switch to the oscilloscope deflection plate, so that the two signals are displayed on the screen of the oscilloscope at the same time, to facilitate the observation of the two signals for comparison.
