Effects of environmental temperature on infrared thermometers

When using infrared thermometry to measure the temperature of an object, we inevitably have to consider external factors. The obvious one is the environment. In terms of environmental conditions, we have some new technologies of our own. Let's talk about some effects of environmental conditions on the thermometer.

The environmental conditions of infrared temperature measurement have a great influence on the measurement results, which should be considered and properly resolved, otherwise it will affect the temperature measurement accuracy and even cause damage to the thermometer.

1. The influence of ambient temperature on the performance of infrared thermometer

The ambient temperature is divided into two situations: one is the environment of the measured target, and the other is the ambient temperature of the residence of the infrared thermometer. If the background temperature of the measured target is higher than the measured target or close to the measured target temperature, it will affect the measurement results. And when the ambient temperature of the infrared thermometer's residence exceeds the range that the thermometer can bear, it will also affect the temperature measurement results.

2. The influence of humid environment on the performance of infrared thermometer

A humid environment can cause an internal short circuit in the thermometer, thereby affecting the measurement results.

3. On-site factors of thermometer temperature measurement:

(1). Whether the measurement angle is within the allowable range;

(2). Is it aimed correctly?

(3). Whether the selected spectral range (wavelength) is appropriate. When measuring the target in a container with a glass window, the spectral range should not be selected from 8 to 14 μm, but should be selected near 1 μm;

4. Target measurement in strong light background:

If the measured target has a relatively bright background light (such as direct sunlight or strong light), the measurement accuracy will also be affected. Therefore, an object can be used to block the strong light of the direct target to eliminate the impact of background light interference on the measurement results.

In order to reduce the influence of environment and background radiation on temperature measurement results, the following measures should be taken:

1. Try to use it in a cool place indoors or outdoors. For indoor equipment, you can turn off the lighting of the direct equipment and avoid other radiation effects.

2. For highly reflective equipment surfaces, you can change the detection angle to find a good angle that can avoid reflection for detection.

3. In order to reduce the influence of solar radiation and the radiation influence of the surrounding high temperature background, shielding measures can be taken during detection.
