An infrared thermometer's calibration
Human body infrared thermometers are mainly used to measure the temperature of the human body, while industrial infrared thermometers, as the name suggests, are mainly used in the industrial field. But it must be clarified that there is no special medical or industrial infrared thermometer, because the manufacturing principles of infrared thermometers are the same. There are only high-precision, high distance coefficient ratio, high-performance infrared thermometers and low-precision, low distance coefficient ratio and low-performance infrared thermometers. As long as the emissivity of the infrared thermometer is set at 0.95 (the emissivity of human skin is generally this value, even if there is a difference, the impact is only within 0.2 degrees), it meets the requirements of human body temperature measurement.
One is that the temperature range of the human body infrared thermometer is small, 30-42.5 degrees, but the display accuracy is high. The industrial infrared thermometer has a large range, such as -50-2200 degrees.
The second is that the human infrared thermometer needs to be close to the human body, within 1-15cm, and the industrial infrared thermometer should be greater than 1M. For example, when measuring the temperature of molten steel, people should not be too close, and some need about 10M. Measuring near and far mainly depends on the intensity of infrared waves emitted by the thermometer. The infrared wave of the human body infrared thermometer is too strong, it will be harmful to the human body, and it is not necessary.
Therefore, we can choose a suitable thermometer according to our needs, which can be divided into three aspects: performance indicators, such as temperature range, spot size, working wavelength, measurement accuracy, response time, etc.; environmental and working conditions, such as ambient temperature , window, display and output, protective accessories, etc.; other selection aspects, such as ease of use, maintenance and calibration performance, and price, also have a certain impact on the choice of infrared thermometer.
