Frequently asked questions regarding choosing a UV light meter include:

1. How to choose various UV illuminance meters?
Answer: A. First confirm the type of UV light source to be measured. Different types of UV light sources need to be measured with different UV illuminance meters. Mainly the wavelength range and intensity of the ultraviolet light source.

B. Look at the range of the ultraviolet light source. For example, the ultraviolet light in the UVA band can be measured with an ultraviolet illuminance meter in the UVC band. It must be inaccurate. For example, the measurement of ultraviolet germicidal lamps used in hospitals must use ultraviolet radiation illuminometers in the UVC band.

C. Look at the intensity range of the ultraviolet light source. Different ultraviolet radiation illuminometers have different ranges.

2. Do all ultraviolet bands have a bactericidal effect?
Answer: No. Only ultraviolet rays in the UVC band have a bactericidal effect, and the main wavelength of medical ultraviolet germicidal lamps is 253.7nm. If it is an ultraviolet lamp in the UVA band, it has no bactericidal effect at all.

3. What are the qualified standards for medical ultraviolet lamps?
Answer: There are the following national standards for 30W straight tube UV lamps: the UV illuminance meter is placed at a place 1m vertically below the UV lamp tube for measurement, and the irradiation intensity of the UV lamp in use must be greater than 70uW/cm2 to be qualified. Different countries have different testing standards for ultraviolet lamps with different wattages.

4. Why is the UV intensity measured by the UV illuminance meter not up to the standard, but the color can be changed with the UV test paper?
Answer: The discoloration of UV test paper has a lot to do with the distance of placement and the length of irradiation time. As long as the test paper is irradiated by UVC, it will change color. It is only a matter of color depth. Whether the intensity of the UV lamp reaches the standard can only be qualitatively determined, and it is very difficult to confirm quantitatively.

5. Is Linshang's LS126C UV illuminance meter accurate?
Answer: A. LS126C UV illuminance meter has passed the test of the national testing agency. Customers can go to any national testing agency for testing.

B. The UVC irradiance meter may decay with time, so it is recommended to send it back to the factory for calibration once a year.

6. Why did the newly purchased lamps fail to meet the standard when tested with the Linshang LS126C UV illuminance meter? Is it an instrument problem?
Answer: A. According to our test results, there are indeed many brands of domestic lamps that do not meet the standard. The fact that the strength does not meet the standard is not that there is no bactericidal effect, but that the bactericidal effect has not reached the standard stipulated by the state.

B. Ultraviolet lamps need special ballasts. We use PHILIPSTUV 30W/G30 T8 lamps and ballasts from different manufacturers. The intensity of ultraviolet light emitted varies greatly. There will be a phenomenon that the same lamp tube is qualified and some are not qualified under the drive of different ballasts. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the right lamp tube and the right ballast.

C. Our ultraviolet energy meter is tested with PHILIPS TUV30W/G30 T8 lamp (with special ballast) and special calibration device before leaving the factory. The probability of failure is very small.

D. We recommend that customers buy a set of PHILIPS TUV30W/G30 T8 lamp + special ballast, and do a comparative test to confirm whether it is a lamp problem or an instrument problem. You can also send a lamp tube (with the ballast in use) to our company for testing and confirmation.

7. Compared with other instruments, what are the characteristics of LS126C UV illuminance meter?
Answer: A. It is equipped with a standard one-meter test rod, which is convenient for users to measure on site.

B. It has the function of automatically recording the maximum value during the test, and the user only needs to look at the maximum value to judge whether the lamp meets the standard.

C. The UV illuminance meter has the function of automatically shutting down in 10 minutes, and can display the last measurement result when it is turned on next time. This eliminates the need for the user to stand under a germicidal lamp and wait for test results. Protect the user's body from ultraviolet rays.
