Functions and operating procedures of the noise meter

 

A noise meter consists mainly of an input circuit, an amplifier, a weighing (weighting) network and a detector.


Functions of the Noise Meter

Specific operation steps of the noise meter
1, the choice of noise meter environment: choose a representative test site, the sound level meter should be off the ground, away from the wall, in order to reduce the additional impact of the ground and the wall of the reflected sound.


2 Weather conditions require that the noise meter should keep the microphone diaphragm clean at a time when there is no rain and no snow, and the wind must be added to the wind cover (to avoid wind noise interference) if the wind is above the third level, and the measurement should be stopped if the wind is above the fifth level.


3、Open the carrying case of noise meter, take out the noise meter and put on the sensor.


4、Place the noise meter in the measurement state, test the battery, and then calibrate the noise meter.


5, against the table (general common environmental sound level size reference), adjust the measurement range.


6, the following can be used fast (measuring sound pressure level changes in the environment of the instantaneous value), slow (measuring sound pressure level changes in the environment of the average value), pulse (measurement of pulsed sound sources), filter (measurement of the sound level of the specified frequency band) a variety of functions for measurement.


7. Record data as needed, and also connect to a printer or other computer terminals for automatic collection. Organize the equipment and put it back to the designated place


Common faults of noise meter


1、No display on the monitor
(1)The internal battery connection line is disconnected or the battery contact is not good: weld the connection line and replace the battery contact piece. (2) Battery damage: replace the battery.


2, the measurement reading is obviously low or calibrated when the school is not 94.0dB.
(1) microphone sensitivity is too low or damaged: replace the microphone and recalibrate.


(2) Preamplifier contact with the microphone contact is not good: cleaning contact.


(3) The plug of preamplifier is not in good contact with the socket of the host: replace the plug and socket.


(3) The reading is high when measuring low sound level , and the ground wire of preamplifier has bad contact: tighten the outer sleeve.
