High precision digital multimeters for the most demanding applications
Engineers can now use the NI (National Instruments) multifunctional device - PXI-4071 FlexDMM - to accurately complete measurement tasks, with signal ranges from microamperes to kilovolts. The product's features include a 7 half bit (26 bits) digital multimeter and a 1.8 MS/s isolated digitizer. The NI PXI-4071 FlexDMM enables you to accurately measure voltages between ± 10 nV and ± 1000 V, as well as resistances between 10 µ W and 5 GW. It also uses a solid-state circuit shunt structure, which can provide 8 DC measurement ranges from 1 µ A to 3 A, and 6 AC measurement ranges from 100 µ A to 3 A. This feature enables engineers to gain sufficient flexibility, versatility, and isolation capabilities in practical applications to fully address challenging applications such as fuel cell testing, leakage measurement, value-added curve tracking, and converter linear data testing.
FlexDMM is the most accurate digital multimeter for the PXI platform, with a DC reading rate of 7 S/s at a precision of 7 1/2 bits. For higher throughput requirements, FlexDMM offers a DC read rate of up to 10 kS/s (4 1/2 bit accuracy), which is 5 times faster than traditional DMMs that use the General Purpose Bus Interface (GPIB). When using the isolated digitizer mode, FlexDMM is capable of continuous waveform acquisition across all voltage and current ranges at a maximum sampling rate of 1.8 MS/s. Through the built-in isolation function, engineers can measure the differential waveform of 500 volt common mode voltage (such as fuel cell stack testing). By changing the sampling rate of the digitizer, engineers can also adjust the resolution of the digitizer within the range of 10 to 23 bits. By using the NI LabVIEW graphical programming environment, engineers can analyze instantaneous, reverse signals, and various other non periodic high-voltage DC waveforms simultaneously at different clocks and frequencies when using FlexDMM in isolated digitizer mode.
