How far is an infrared thermometer suitable for measuring

Please pay attention to the distance coefficient labeled on the instrument. Usually, the larger the coefficient, the smaller the target can be measured at the same distance, or the larger the target can be measured at a further distance.

Try to require the measured person to stay in the measurement environment for a sufficient period of time; The measurement location should be chosen indoors as much as possible, and avoid direct sunlight on the infrared radiation thermometer and the forehead of the person being measured; To accurately estimate the distance of the measured person; The temperature of a person's forehead is generally 1-3 degrees Celsius lower than the axillary temperature. At this time, the temperature data of a fever's armpit should be converted into forehead temperature data.

Infrared ear thermometer is a device that measures ear temperature and can be completed within one second. Due to the relatively small impact of external environmental conditions on the human eardrum and ear canal, infrared ear thermometer can accurately measure body temperature. The ear temperature of a person is generally 0.4 degrees Celsius higher than the axillary temperature. This is the infrared ear thermometer indicating that the temperature data of the fever's armpit should be converted into ear temperature data;

To ensure the accuracy and stability of infrared radiation thermometers, regular calibration with standard calibrated devices should be carried out; Non contact infrared radiation thermometers are divided into industrial and medical types. When measuring body temperature, medical infrared radiation thermometers should be used because industrial thermometers have a relatively wide range, low resolution, and large errors; Various infrared thermometers are measured with high to low accuracy, including medical thermometers, infrared ear thermometers, and body surface infrared radiation thermometers.

Issues to pay attention to when using infrared thermometers

To locate a hot spot, the instrument aims at the target and then scans up and down on the target until the hot spot is determined.

Temperature measurement cannot be carried out through glass, which has special reflection and transmission characteristics and does not allow infrared temperature readings. But temperature can be measured through an infrared window. Infrared thermometers are not suitable for measuring temperature on bright or polished metal surfaces (stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).

Only measuring surface temperature, infrared thermometer cannot measure internal temperature.

Pay attention to environmental conditions: steam, dust, smoke, etc. It blocks the optical system of the instrument and affects temperature measurement
