How long can the gas detector be used before being replaced?
Gas detectors are the same as other objects, and they all have a certain service life. If the instrument exceeds the service life, it needs to be replaced. However, in practical applications, there are many types of gas detectors. That is to say, different types of gas detectors have different life spans.
Gas detector service life
1. The gas detector needs to be calibrated regularly. When the instrument is used for one and a half years, the measurement accuracy will decrease. At this time, it needs to be returned to the factory for recalibration. Don't damage the sensor just because it saves time.
2. The service life of general gas detectors is 5 years, but not all gas detectors can reach 5 years. Only by using the instrument in the correct field and performing daily maintenance can its service life be guaranteed. It is about 5 years. After the instrument exceeds its service life, it must be replaced with a new detector.
3. Most of the sensors used in the instruments used to detect the concentration of combustible gases are catalytic combustion sensors, and its service life is generally 3-5 years. And the life of the sensor of the gas detector (including fixed gas alarm and portable gas alarm) has a great relationship with the gas concentration exposed in the environment.
4. The service life of the electrochemical gas detector is generally about 2 years. After more than 2 years, its performance needs to be tested. If it cannot meet our testing requirements, the detector needs to be replaced. In addition to detecting whether the sensor is aging, the instrument needs to be calibrated. And it is necessary to use the corresponding standard gas to calibrate the instrument correctly.
