How to apply the handheld laser range finder in the mine

As a range finder, the handheld laser range finder has unique functions and characteristics compared with ordinary range finders.

The application of DISTO in mines mainly uses the combination of DISTO and domestic theodolite to form a non-prism half-station instrument, which is used in underground stope to measure point position, section height, stope volume, etc.

Before a unit purchased the DISTO handheld range finder, what was the original downhole measurement method like? According to the person in charge of the measurement unit: They used theodolite, tape measure, fishing rod and domestic pulse rangefinder to measure the underground stope. The main disadvantages of this approach:

1. Low measurement accuracy. There is a set of data to prove it; at the end of 1998, two geological survey groups jointly measured the volume of a stope, and the result was 55,000 cubic meters for one group and 68,000 cubic meters for the other group. Measure one measurement value at a time, and the difference between several measurement values is very large, so I dare not continue to measure again.

2. Slow speed and low efficiency. The underground working environment cannot be compared with the ground environment at all. Due to the limitations of poor underground conditions, dark light, and low safety factor, the measurement work speed is very slow and the efficiency is also very low. It often takes several times more than the usual measurement time for one measurement point. .

3. Although the domestic pulse-type handheld rangefinder can also measure distance, because it is ultrasonic distance measurement, people cannot see the position of the target point. In addition, the measurement range is too short and the accuracy is low, which greatly limits its scope of use.

Changes after using DISTO:

In the underground measurement, the surveyor only needs to set up a theodolite and a rangefinder, and the target point does not need to be stationed. The measurement task can be completed smoothly, comprehensively and accurately in a short time, which overcomes the previous problems. The disadvantages of slow speed, low efficiency, and poor accuracy, especially the advantage that the handheld laser rangefinder can see the red laser point in the downhole measurement, are particularly praised by the surveyors. The hand-held laser range finder can also be used alone in the downhole measurement, which is quite convenient and can store a large amount of measurement data without the need for downhole measurement records. In addition to being convenient to use underground, the handheld laser rangefinder can also be used for open-air slope measurement and stakeout.
