How to avoid damaging the objective lens when installing the microscope
Microscopes are precision optomechanical instruments with a wide range of applications. The main part of the general microscope has been installed and adjusted before leaving the factory. However, due to the needs of transportation and storage, important optical components such as eyepieces, objective lenses, and photographic devices will be stored in special storage equipment. Only when using the microscope, it is necessary to take out the eyepiece, objective lens, etc., and perform corresponding installation operations. After use, the eyepiece, objective lens and other components must be disassembled and put back to the original place for storage.
General microscope will follow the rules of use. It can be seen from this that the installation and removal of the optical components of the microscope is an important matter in the use of the microscope. Then let's take the metallographic microscope as an example to explain the installation process of the eyepiece and objective lens.
1. Installation of microscope eyepieces
The installation process of the eyepiece is not complicated, just be careful not to scratch or wear the lens during operation. First remove the dust cover on the eyepiece tube, and then insert the selected eyepiece from the upper end of the eyepiece tube. If you want to change a different eyepiece, just follow the above operation to replace the eyepiece in the eyepiece tube. After installing the eyepiece, pay attention to check the coincidence of the eyepiece and the supporting surface of the eyepiece tube.
2. Installation of microscope objective lens
In most microscopes, the objective lens is installed on the objective lens converter. During the installation process, also pay attention to handle with care, so as not to scratch and wear the objective lens. Turn the coarse handwheel first to raise the stage. Here, when the stage is raised, observe the distance between it and the nosepiece, and keep the distance large enough. Then screw the objective lens into the screw hole of the objective lens converter in a certain order. In general, the order of objective lenses is in the order of low magnification, medium magnification, and high magnification, and the order cannot be changed at will. At this time, be careful not to let go to prevent the objective lens from falling. Rotate the screw thread, tighten the objective lens, pay attention to keep the tightness of the objective lens moderate. Finally, turn the converter and turn the objective lens to an appropriate position until a slight "click" sound is heard, which means that the converter has been fixed and fit and can work.
The installation process of eyepiece and objective lens is basically introduced. Because microscopes are precision optical instruments, care must be taken throughout the process not to wear down the lenses. Pay attention to details during operation, for example, do not push the converter with the objective lens, so as not to damage the screw thread. Only by operating in accordance with the prescribed procedures can the microscope be effectively protected.
