How to check if the level is truly level
A level is one of the commonly used tools in construction, mainly used for detecting or measuring levels and verticality, serving as a horizontal reference. However, before using a level, it is necessary to ensure that it is in a horizontal state in order to use it normally. So, how can a level be determined whether it is horizontal?
1. The method for testing whether a handheld level is level is to first place the level against the wall, level the water on the level, draw a line on the wall, then swap the left and right ends of the level, and place it on the originally drawn line to see. If the level coincides with the line and the water in the level tube of the level is still level, it indicates that the level is level and can continue to be used; If there is no overlap, it is necessary to adjust the screw of the water level pipe to correct it.
2. To ensure that the reference plane of the level is horizontal, a plug gauge can also be used to check on the platform. First, operate on the calibration instrument, calibrate the level bubble, firmly fix it after calibration, and then start the inspection. Turn around 180 degrees at the same position. If the bubble position is the same, it proves that the level is qualified; If there is any deviation, the error range can be measured using a plug gauge and adjusted accordingly.
Additionally, it should be noted that the principle of leveling with a spirit level is to determine a plane based on two intersecting lines. Therefore, it is necessary to measure at two non parallel positions within the same plane to determine the level of the plane.
How to adjust the level with a vertical ruler
The horizontal ruler is mainly used for checking, measuring, and debugging whether the equipment is installed horizontally. If the vertical horizontal ruler itself is not horizontal, it cannot be measured well. So how can the horizontal ruler be adjusted horizontally?
A horizontal ruler has horizontal bubbles. Generally, a horizontal ruler has three glass tubes, each containing a bubble. Horizontal glass tubes are used to measure the horizontal plane, vertical glass tubes are used to measure the vertical plane, and the other is generally used to measure a 45 degree angle. The three bubbles are used to measure whether the measurement surface is horizontal. If the bubble is in the center, it is horizontal. If the bubble deviates, the plane is not horizontal; When adjusting, place the level ruler on the object being measured. If the bubble on the level ruler leans towards which side, it indicates which side is higher. That is, it is necessary to lower the height of that side or increase the height of the opposite side. Adjust the bubble to the horizontal state, which indicates that the object being measured is horizontal in that direction.
