How to choose a multimeter for home use, let's look at a few details

Regarding the purchasing skills of household multimeters, the multimeters used in general households are mainly used to measure and repair electrical circuits, electrical equipment and electronic circuits, electronic components, etc. How to buy them and what problems should be paid attention to.

1. Basic requirements
Household multimeters require appropriate accuracy, stability, reliability, economy and durability, portability, and affordable prices.

2. Range of types
Pocket multimeters such as MF40, MF41, MF30, and MF72 can be used to measure capacitance, inductance, and the magnification β value of transistors.

MF30 is a multimeter with high sensitivity, and MF72 is suitable for repairing TV sets and radio recorders.

The high-sensitivity multimeter mainly has the 500 type, the disadvantage is that it is bulky and heavy, and the disadvantage is that it has high precision.

The sensitivity of MF15 and MF16 is also relatively high, and the volume is small, and this type of multimeter is often purchased in the family.

3. Digital multimeter
The digital multimeter is characterized by very high sensitivity, complete functions, intuitive display, good reliability, low power consumption, small size and light weight. The commonly used type is DT-830, etc. Its range switch can complete the selection of test function and range at the same time.

4. Points of purchase
When buying a multimeter, first observe the case, whether it is smooth and shiny, without scratches or cracks, and the scale on the dial is clear and clean without stains.

Then, turn the down switch to see if it is light and flexible, free of jamming and noise. You can also shake the multimeter horizontally a few times, the pointer should have good damping, the swing should not be too large, and there is no knocking sound inside the meter.

Check the mechanical zero adjustment (the corrector is in the middle of the surface) to see if the pointer can cross zero and can be accurately adjusted to the zero point.

Finally, check the ohm gear of the battery on the watch: Short-circuit the two test leads, turn the zero-adjustment potentiometer forward and reverse, the pointer should swing back and forth at "0" Ω, and can be accurately adjusted to zero.

In addition, you can also check according to the product performance in the manual to see if it meets the specified technical requirements.
