They cannot pass accuracy testing from formal national metrology institutions. If consumers purchase such products for use in high-risk areas, it will bring safety hazards. So how do we choose a suitable gas detector?
1. Own needs
What gases should be clearly detected when selecting a gas detector? In what environment is it used? Portable or fixed? And other accompanying functions. These reasons are usually necessary to consider. Otherwise, the original plan to buy an oxygen detector would result in buying an ozone detector, which would create a big problem and cause unnecessary economic losses without delay.
2. Functional requirements
The general function of a gas detector is to detect gas concentration, alarm for exceeding standards, etc. But many customers don't just need these functions. Signal output is one aspect that requires current output, digital signal output, voltage output, and switching output. Perhaps there are other special requirements such as network interfaces and wireless signals. At the same time, data recording and processing are also common requirements.
3. Sensor origin
Many gas detector manufacturers use foreign sensors as their nominal sensors, but they are not necessarily the same. Some use domestic sensors to fake imported sensors to deceive customers. When encountering such situations, it is necessary to carefully check the product information and sign a purchase and sales contract if necessary to ensure one's rights and interests.
4. Operating environmental conditions
All types of gas detectors have strict requirements for the on-site environment, generally speaking, temperature is -20~60 ℃, humidity is 0-95% RH, pressure is 80-120 Kpa, etc., including strict requirements for dust, flow rate, etc. Due to the significant impact of other impurities in the environment on the detection results, unforeseen losses may occur. At the same time, understand the on-site working conditions and promptly provide the manufacturer with this information, and the manufacturer will have corresponding plans to handle it.

The installation and use of gas detectors have mandatory requirements for explosion protection on site. The coal, petroleum, and chemical industries have very strict explosion-proof requirements, requiring instruments to be explosion-proof and have explosion-proof certification. Other environments may require gas detectors to have qualifications such as environmental certification or measuring equipment licenses.
