How to Choose Gas Detectors in Different Environments
The requirements for gas detection in different working environments in daily life require the selection of appropriate and correct gas detectors, which is something that every person engaged in safety and health work should pay attention to. How should we choose and use the detector correctly in different environments? There are mainly two environments for use.
1、 Open or developmental sites such as open work workshops can use such instruments as safety alarms, and portable diffusion gas detectors can be used because they can continuously, real-time, and accurately display the concentration of toxic gases on site.
2、 Similar to highly enclosed or enclosed workplaces such as reaction tanks, storage tanks or containers, sewers or other underground pipelines, underground facilities, agricultural enclosed granaries, railway tankers, shipping cargo holds, tunnels, etc., testing must be conducted before personnel enter, and testing must be conducted outside the confined space. At this point, it is necessary to choose a multi gas detector with a built-in sampling pump. Because the gas distribution and types vary greatly in different parts (upper, middle, and lower) of a confined space. So a complete enclosed space gas detector should be a portable instrument with built-in pumping function for non-contact and partial detection, and multiple gas detection functions for detecting hazardous gases distributed in different spaces, including inorganic and organic gases. The detector should have oxygen detection function to prevent hypoxia or be compact in size, without affecting workers' work. Only in this way can the absolute safety of personnel entering confined spaces be ensured. From this, it can be seen that when using gas detectors in different environments, it is necessary to pay attention to the way they are used. This not only ensures safe operation, but also enables better analysis and detection reports.
