How to choose pH sensor and its electrodes in different environments

PH is one of the important detection indicators of water quality. PH detection is required in fields such as sewage treatment, industrial production, environmental monitoring, education and scientific research, aquaculture, and civil water use.

At present, the common pH detection method on the market is to use a pH sensor. The pH sensor is a sensor used to detect the hydrogen ion concentration in the measured solution and convert it into a corresponding usable output signal. This method can obtain accurate pH parameters.

So how to choose a pH sensor?

1. Do you need automatic temperature compensation (ATC)?
pH measurement is temperature dependent. If an extreme and varying temperature range is required during the assay, the pH measurement will most likely require temperature compensation. When determining whether automatic temperature compensation (ATC) is required, the required pH accuracy, process temperature range, and pH measurement range should be considered.

2. Is the pH sensor compatible with the instrument you need to use?
Before choosing a pH sensor, you need to know whether the industrial pH sensor can be connected to the instrument you want to use (such as: controller, transmitter, analyzer, etc.).

Jianda PeopleSoft industrial pH sensor (RS-PH-*-2-*) adopts a high-precision probe, which is accurate and stable in measurement. The measurement range is 0~14.00pH. It adopts two-point calibration method, with small error and higher accuracy. With automatic temperature compensation function, automatic temperature compensation and manual temperature compensation can be switched at will, the sensor can work at 0~60°C and relative humidity within 0~85%, and the applicable temperature of the electrode is 0~80°C. Optional digital display controller.

Compared with the traditional PH measurement method, the operation is simple, the data is accurate and fast, and the collected signal can also be uploaded to the environmental monitoring cloud platform provided by our company free of charge by connecting to the environmental monitoring host, supporting computer web pages, mobile APPs and WeChat official accounts Multiple login methods to view data anytime, anywhere.

When choosing a pH sensor, in addition to understanding the functional characteristics of the sensor, it is also necessary to understand the environmental conditions during use.

According to different use environments, Jianda PeopleSoft Industrial pH sensor is equipped with six different electrodes for selection, which are conventional composite electrodes, planar desulfurization electrodes, tetrafluoride electrodes, electroplating electrodes, glass electrodes, and antimony electrodes.

1. Conventional composite electrode
Scope of application: industrial sewage, domestic sewage, agriculture, aquaculture and other scenarios in a non-corrosive weak acid and weak alkali environment.

2. Plane desulfurization electrode
The electrode is a special pH electrode for slurry and desulfurization. Because it is flat, it is not easy to scale and easy to clean. So it is the most suitable electrode for desulfurization occasions.

Scope of application: used for various industrial wastewater, environmental protection water treatment, mineral suspension, pH measurement in flue gas desulfurization, etc.

3. PTFE electrode
The electrode casing is made of polytetrafluoroethylene, which is suitable for occasions where strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic substances corrode.

Scope of application: industry, sewage containing organic matter, on-line monitoring, etc.

4. Plating electrodes
The double-liquid junction is adopted to reduce the pollution of the reference liquid, and the long-distance reference diffusion path greatly prolongs the service life of the electrode in harsh environments and is easy to maintain.

Scope of application: sewage treatment, electroplating sewage fermentation, occasions with high organic content, etc.

5. Glass electrode
The electrode casing is made of glass.

Scope of application: biological engineering, pharmaceuticals, beer, chemical industry, semiconductor electronics industry or places with certain corrosion.

6. Antimony electrode
The antimony electrode is a pH-sensitive electrode. Because it is relatively strong, it is most suitable for use in occasions that require a strong electrode, such as the pH test of a solution containing hydrofluoric acid.

Scope of application: online monitoring of aquaculture, sewage, hydrofluoric acid, etc.
