How to correctly operate a gas detector and what precautions should be taken before use?

For industries such as chemical, gas, and metallurgical, gas detection is a very important safety procedure because there are irritating and suffocating gases present in industrial production processes, which are often corrosive and can cause acute poisoning when entering the human body through the respiratory tract. Therefore, gas detectors have been widely used in various industries.

Before using the gas detector:

① Carefully read the user manual corresponding to the gas detector before homework, familiarize yourself with the performance and operation methods of the machine.

② Check if the battery is fully charged, and replace it promptly if it is found to be low.

③ Check if there are any foreign objects blocking the intake air filter. If it is blocked, it needs to be cleaned or replaced.

④ Press and hold the start button for three seconds during startup to enter self-test mode. Observe whether the low alarm value and high alarm value set by the detector are accurate (the CO detector has a first level alarm of 50ppm and a second level alarm of 100ppm); The first level alarm of the oxygen detector is 19.5%, and the second level alarm is 22%; The hydrogen sulfide detector has a first level alarm of 10 ppm and a second level alarm of 15 ppm. If it does not meet the requirements, it cannot be used and should be immediately calibrated.

⑤ During the self check during the startup process, it is necessary to listen to the graded alarm, sound and light alarm, and vibration alarm to see if they are accurate. If they do not meet the requirements, they are not allowed to be used and should be immediately calibrated.

⑥ After starting up under fresh air conditions, observe whether the initial value is accurate (the CO detector initially displays 0 ppm; The initial display of the O2 detector is 20.9%; The initial display of the hydrogen sulfide detector is 0 ppm. If the displayed value is inaccurate, it is strictly prohibited to use and should be immediately calibrated.
