In the past, it was generally followed the "overflow point" of the mixed solution to hit the concrete floor to find the "puncture point", which was often half the effort. The technicians of the Gudong Third Production Center of Shengli Oilfield used the temperature-sensitive characteristics of the infrared thermometer to quickly and accurately find the leak point of the pipeline.


Generally, the mixture of polymer mother liquor and sewage is transported to the wellhead in the pipeline of the polymer injection well, and the temperature is about 40°C. The mixed liquid coming out of the leak point migrates along the underground porosity point with the maximum depth of more than 10 meters, and finally overflows from the weakest point, that is, the overflow point. During the transfer of the mixed solution, the temperature decreased gradually, that is, the overflow point had the lowest temperature, while the puncture point had the highest temperature.


Therefore, when actually looking for leaks, as long as the hand-held infrared thermometer moves from the overflow point along the path of temperature increase, and finds the highest temperature point, the leak point is found. Many leak-finding tests have proved that this method saves time and effort, is 100% accurate, and can greatly reduce the scope of smashing the concrete floor. This year, infrared thermometers were used to find leaks in 15 wells. On average, the pipeline processing time was shortened by 6 hours per well, and the injection volume of polymer solution was increased by 680 cubic meters.


In addition, infrared thermometers can also be used to monitor places with strong currents such as control cabinets and switchboards in the station, and accurately and timely find abnormalities such as false connections and loose connections at the wiring points of AC contactors. The operation is simple and safe, and does not affect the normal operation of the equipment.
