How to maintain an acidity meter/PH meter effectively

A pH meter is a commonly used instrument and equipment, mainly used to precisely measure the pH value of a liquid medium. With the corresponding ion selective electrode, it can also measure the MV value of the ion electrode potential. It is widely used in industry, agriculture, scientific research, environmental protection and other fields. The instrument is also an essential inspection equipment for QS and HACCP certification in food factories and drinking water factories. So, how to maintain the acidity meter effectively?

Effective maintenance of the acidity meter should start from the following aspects:
1. When measuring, the lead wire of the electrode should be kept still, otherwise it will cause unstable measurement.

2. The power supply used by the instrument should be well grounded.

3. The instrument uses a MOS integrated circuit, so the circuit iron should be well grounded during maintenance.

4. When calibrating the instrument with a buffer solution, the reliability of the buffer solution must be ensured, and the wrong buffer solution cannot be mixed, otherwise it will cause errors in the measurement results.

5. The input end of the instrument must be kept dry and clean. When the instrument is not in use, insert the Q9 short-circuit plug into the socket to prevent dust and water vapor from entering.

6. The electrode converter is designed for use with other electrodes, and it should be protected from moisture and dust at ordinary times.

How long can the electrode of a general pH meter be used?
This question is often asked by many users, but it cannot be answered in a few words. Firstly, the national standard (ZBN50003-88) introduces the regulations on electrode "life": "Guarantee period of electrode: from the date of manufacture marked on the electrode, when it is unpacked and used within one year of storage, its performance shall meet the requirements of this standard. All the requirements of the standard. During the guarantee period, if the electrode is found to be unable to work normally due to the manufacturer's reasons, the manufacturer shall be responsible for repairing or returning it. It is very clear here that the quality guarantee period of the electrode is based on the fact that it has not been used. The premise is that the lifespan of the electrode is one year, so many people generally say that the life of the electrode is one year. In fact, this is wrong. In addition to the quality of the electrode itself, there is also a problem of use and maintenance. The first is to use the medium, the same electrode It will come into contact with different media. Some media are very clean, such as tap water, and some media are strong acid and alkali or even high temperature. The first is the use time, some are used occasionally, and some are used continuously for a long time. The third is whether to clean and maintain, so here There will be a big difference. Generally speaking, if an electrode fails within a short period of time, it may be that the electrode model is not selected correctly or the user maintains it improperly. In this case, the manufacturer is not responsible for the refund. Of course, if the electrode has been used, but its appearance is still good, and there is no trace of abuse, it may be due to the quality of the electrode, and the manufacturer will generally be responsible for refunding the compensation. As for some electrodes that claim to be long-life electrodes, there are actually some The problem. The general use time of electrodes is half a year to one year, and the time of industrial pH electrodes with poor use conditions may be shorter.
