How to measure a fan motor with a digital multimeter

 

1.Measure the coil with the resistance setting of the multimeter. No red and black pens, RX1K can also be used, because the coil has no burn marks. As long as the coil is through is good, with 1K gear more sensitive. A meter pen connected to a wire.


2, another pen according to the measurement of 3 wires. One wire will be through, this is a group of coils. The remaining 2 wires are the other set of coils. The two sets of coils for this type of exhaust fan are exactly the same, and the start and run windings can be either set.


3, and then measure whether the two sets of coils are insulated from each other. As shown in the picture.


4, then the multimeter trigger in the RX10K gear to measure the insulation of each winding.


5, the results of the measurement should be two windings and shell is insulated, the pointer will not move. Note that you can not let your hands touch the metal parts of the two pens. Because the human hands touch the meter pen also has tens of kilo-ohms of resistance, to achieve these two conditions, the motor is going to work normally.


Precautions


1, look at the random file
Motor fan randomly equipped with instructions, product certification, electrical wiring diagrams and packing list, to check the packing list, check parts.


2, look at the motor fan shape
Carefully check the motor fan mesh and fan blade whether there is obvious deformation. Turn the fan blade, should be light and flexible, should not always stop in the same position.


3, look at the starting performance
Starting performance is an important quality indicator of the motor fan. Inspection, in slow gear, 85% of the rated voltage of the power supply, the motor fan should be able to start from a standstill, and normal operation, a motor fan from the start to the normal operation of the shorter the time required, the motor fan start-up performance is better.


4, see the speed performance
After power on, the fan mechanical transmission part should not have abnormal noise. Motor fan in high, medium and low speed operation, motor and fan blade should be smooth, small vibration, low noise. Motor fan shaking head, stopping should be agile, no intermittent, stagnation and shaking phenomenon.


5, see if the leakage
Motor fan after electricity, hand touch such as a numb electric feeling, test with a test pen, test pen also has a luminous display, can be determined that the shell leakage, can not be.


6, look at the motor fan continuous operation
After 2 hours of continuous operation of the fan, if the surface of the head shell is hot, the temperature is too high, can not be used. Under normal circumstances, the head shell surface temperature below 50 ℃, should not feel hot.
