How to Use a Four‑in‑One Gas Detector
The four-in-one gas detector features easy portability, flexible operation and on-site continuous detection. It is widely applied in agriculture, chemical industry, construction, electric power, fire protection, natural gas, iron and steel industry, petroleum and petrochemical industry, sewage treatment and other fields.
It is a detecting instrument mainly used to monitor four types of gases: hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, oxygen and combustible gas. Many users are confused about its operation after purchase.
Operating Methods of Four-in-One Gas Detectors
① Confirm safety conditions before entering the working area. Entry to the working face is permitted only after all hidden dangers are ruled out. If the detector triggers an alarm, personnel shall evacuate the working area immediately. Conduct forced ventilation for no less than half an hour before re-detection. Testers shall record the detection results of the working site on the confirmation form and take responsibility for the accuracy of test data.
② Flip and confirm the warning sign as required after detection. The warning sign shall be hung at a reliable position at the entrance of the operation site. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from flipping it, and external interference shall be avoided. Workers can enter the work area only when the green side of the sign is visible. The on-duty production supervisor shall supervise and inspect the work of testers to ensure the implementation of these regulations.
③ Place the probe in the environment to be measured. If target gas leaks, the concentration reading on the screen will rise. Once exceeding the preset alarm value, the alarm indicator light will turn on together with audible alarm. When the probe approaches the leakage source, the reading on the display will reach the maximum value.
④ Low battery reminder means the power is nearly exhausted. Power off the instrument in time and charge it with the matched charger for 10–14 hours per full charge.
⑤ Charging procedure: Plug the charger into an AC220V power socket, insert the charging plug into the charging port of the detector, and turn on the power switch of the four-in-one gas detector to start charging. During charging, the green operation light is on, the battery indicator flashes, and "----" appears on the display. After charging completes, turn off the power switch and disconnect the charger.
⑥ At least two personnel are required for detection: one operates the detector and the other stands guard, keeping a proper distance between them. Single-person operation is strictly forbidden.
Operators must comply with detection specifications, fulfill gas inspection duties, and keep detection regulations, operating procedures and control standards in mind.
The detector shall stop being used in the following cases: abnormal readings, single-mode audible/visual/vibration alarm, water immersion, physical damage and other faults. Testers shall operate the four-in-one gas detector correctly.
