How to use a microscope with low magnification
(1) take the mirror and placed: microscope usually stored in the cabinet or box, when used out of the cabinet, right hand holding the arm of the mirror, the left hand holding the mirror, the microscope will be placed on their left shoulder in front of the laboratory table, the back end of the mirror base from the edge of the table 1-2 inches is appropriate to facilitate the operation of the sitting.
(2) Align the light: use the thumb and middle finger to move the rotator (do not hold the objective lens to move), so that the low-magnification mirror aligned with the light through the hole of the mirror table (when the rotation of the sound heard when touching the knocking sound, indicating that the optical axis of the objective lens has been aligned with the centre of the lens barrel). Open the aperture, raise the light collector, and turn the reflector to the light source, observe with the left eye on the eyepiece (right eye open), while adjusting the direction of the reflector until the light in the field of view is uniform and bright.
(3) Place the slide specimen: Take a slide specimen and put it on the mirror stage, make sure that the side with the coverslip is facing up, do not put it in the opposite way, use the spring clip of the pusher to hold it, and then rotate the spiral of the pusher to adjust the part you want to observe to the middle of the light-through hole.
(4) Adjust the focal length: turn the coarse adjuster in the counterclockwise direction with the left hand, so that the mirror stage slowly up to the objective lens is about 5 mm from the specimen film, it should be noted that in the rise of the mirror stage, do not observe on the eyepiece. Be sure to watch the stage rise from the right side so that it does not rise too much and cause damage to the lens or specimen sheet. Then, with both eyes open at the same time, observe with the left eye on the eyepiece, and slowly turn the coarse adjuster in a clockwise direction with your left hand so that the mirror stage slowly descends until a clear object appears in the field of view.
If the object is not in the centre of the field of view, adjust the pusher to bring it to the centre (note that the direction of moving the slide is opposite to the direction of moving the object in the field of view). If the brightness in the field of view is not suitable, it can be adjusted by lifting and lowering the position of the light collector or opening and closing the size of the aperture. If, when adjusting the focal length, the mirror stage has fallen more than the working distance (>5.40mm) without seeing the object, it means that the operation has failed, then it should be re-opened, and it is important not to be anxious to blindly rise the mirror stage.,
