How to use combustible gas detector correctly

According to national requirements, the gas detector necessary for safe production is an important alarm equipment that can effectively avoid explosion and poisoning accidents caused by gas leakage. Since it is so important, how do we buy it? Here is a brief analysis for you on how to decide when purchasing similar equipment!

Everyone should have a question. After buying a combustible gas detector, how can I judge whether it will work well? In fact, this method is very simple. Generally, experimental gases are stored in workshops. We only need to put part of the gas or liquid in a mineral water bottle, screw on the lid, insert a small hole in the lid with a pointed object, and aim the small hole at the flammable gas. At the probe part of the detector, you can see whether the reading on the gas detector panel changes.

Pay special attention to the fact that some flammable gases are in a liquid state and evaporate relatively slowly. Therefore, during the test, the mineral water bottle needs to be shaken to accelerate its evaporation. Another point: fixed gas detectors generally diffuse naturally, and the equipment will only react when the leaked gas diffuses before the alarm equipment.

If you find this method troublesome, you can use a lighter to test whether the gas detector can read. Method: Light the lighter and blow out the fire, but do not let go of your hand. Keep the lighter still deflating and aim it at the gas detector probe, but not for too long, because the concentration of combustible gas in lighters is very high and the time is too long. , it is easy to cause the gas concentration to be extremely high and exceed the range of the gas detector. If this happens for a long time, it is easy to shorten the life of the gas detector.

If you want to know if your gas detector is reading accurately, it can be a bit difficult. At this time, we must know the precise concentration of the gas we are using and see if the reading of the detector is consistent with the concentration value we know (national standards allow some errors). If they are consistent or the difference is very small, it means that the gas detector can read correctly.
