How to use the commonly used functions of multimeter?

1. Measuring AC voltage: Adjust the multimeter to the AC 600V gear (some are 750V gear), and then insert the probe of the multimeter into the home socket, and the multimeter display will display the measured voltage value.

2. DC voltage test: Take a new 1.5V battery as an example, turn the multimeter to DC voltage gear, and then connect the red probe to the battery positive electrode and the black probe to the battery negative electrode. You can see that the multimeter displays 1.5V.

3. Measure the resistance Adjust the multimeter to a resistance of 200 ohms, then touch the probe to both ends of the resistance to be measured, and then the screen will display the resistance value of the measured resistance.

4. On-off measurement: set the multimeter to the buzzer, and the two probes are connected together, or connected to both ends of the cable we need to test. If the general rules of the cable are met, the buzzer will sound at this time, otherwise it will not work.

Use multimeter must pay attention to several matters needing attention:

1. Look at the block before measuring, but don't look at it and don't measure.
Every time you pick up the stylus to prepare for measurement, be sure to check whether the measurement category and range selection switch are in the right position. In order to be safe, this habit must be formed.

2. Measure not to shift gears, and shift gears after measuring.
During measurement, the selection knob should not be randomly turned, especially when measuring high voltage (e.g. 220V) or high current (e.g. 0.5A), so as to avoid arcing and burning out the contact of the transfer switch. When the measurement is finished, turn the range selection switch to the ""position.

3. R is not charged, C is discharged first.
It is forbidden to measure the resistance under the condition that the circuit under test has a point. When checking the large-capacity capacitor on electrical equipment, the capacitor should be short-circuited and discharged before measurement.

4. Measure I in series and U in parallel.
When measuring current, the multimeter should be connected in series in the circuit under test; When measuring voltage, the multimeter should be connected in parallel at both ends of the circuit under test.

5. polarity is not reversed, and one hand becomes a habit.

When measuring current and voltage, special attention should be paid to the polarity of red and black pens, and the habit of one-handed operation must be formed to ensure safety.
