How to use the thermometer and precautions during use
When measuring indoor and outdoor temperatures
1. Hold the upper end of the thermometer by hand, wait for the liquid column in the thermometer to stop rising and falling, and then read;
2. When reading, the line of sight should also be flush with the top of the liquid column of the thermometer;
3. If you measure the outdoor temperature for a long time, please hang the thermometer in a cool and ventilated place.
Use of laboratory thermometers
When using a thermometer to measure liquid temperature, the correct method is as follows:
1. Holding the upper end of the thermometer with your hand, immerse all the glass bulbs of the thermometer in the liquid to be measured, without touching the bottom or walls of the container.
2. After immersing the glass bubble of the thermometer in the liquid to be measured, wait for a while, and then read the reading after the indication of the thermometer is stable.
3. When reading, the glass bulb of the thermometer should be kept in the liquid, and the line of sight should be flush with the upper surface of the liquid column in the thermometer.
According to the experiment, the precautions for using thermometers are summarized:
1. Before using the thermometer, first estimate the temperature of the object to be measured, select a suitable thermometer, and look at the range and division value of the thermometer before measuring. In this way, the measured temperature can be read correctly without damaging the thermometer.
2. During the measurement process, the liquid bubble of the thermometer should not be in contact with the container wall and the bottom of the container, and the liquid bubble should be completely immersed in the measured liquid.
3. Read the temperature after the liquid column of the thermometer is stable
4. Keep your eyes level when reading
5. When reading, the thermometer cannot leave the measured object for reading
