How Wood Moisture Meters Work

The wood moisture meter adopts microwave measurement technology, which can determine the moisture within 1 second. The measurement result is highly accurate and is not affected by the particles, colors and any minerals contained in the product. It is made by using the principle that microwave energy is attenuated by being absorbed when passing through a substance. It can be used to measure the moisture of coal powder, petroleum or various crops; check the humidity of the grain depot; and the determination of the moisture of wood is determined by the principle of resistance, and it takes a considerable time before the wood is dry. During construction, wood that has been processed and dried insufficiently will deform later and cause cracks. Judging from the use examples of historical buildings, hundreds of years of service life have proved that if construction methods and management are ignored, no wood can be an excellent material. In order to be suitable for the high-temperature and humid climate like our country, the humidity of wood changes with the environment, so it is considered as living wood. Moisture management is necessary even if the correct application of wood does not revive it.
