AFM inspection instructions are summarized below:


1) System preheating: turn on the control box and computer, and preheat for 30 minutes to stabilize the system


2) Sample preparation: fix the dried sample on a stainless steel disc with double-sided tape, the sample size is less than 1cm in diameter and less than 5mm in thickness.


3) Protect the probe: take off the dust cover and gently take down the microscope probe, fix the stainless steel disc with the sample on the sample stage, and then put the microscope probe back to the original place. Before placing the sample, the probe and the sample Keep a certain distance between them so as not to damage the probe.


4) Mode selection, open the iNanoSPM online software, select the working mode and magnification (generally choose 5 times).


5) Spot adjustment: adjust the laser adjustment knob to make the laser spot converge on the probe cantilever, adjust the photosensitive detector knob to make the laser spot converge at the center of the photosensitive detector, and if the tap mode is used, the force is generally set to the formant height 1/2 to 2/3 of the.


6) Needle tip approach: First, adjust the manual coarse adjustment knob of the base with both hands (the knob faces the left head downwards, and vice versa) to observe the laser spot on the needle tip and the surface of the sample. Stop manual traversing, then click "Automatic traversing" on the motor control panel. (Note: Do not tilt the front and rear ends too much when adjusting, and make the section controlled by the motor slightly higher, otherwise, withdraw the needle and adjust the manual coarse adjustment knob on the base and repeat the above steps).


7) Sample scanning: set the scanning range X, Y and Z axis range, if the sample is not clear, adjust each parameter to achieve the best image effect.


8) Image saving: save the scanned image file to the specified location, and use image analysis software to analyze various parameters, such as three-dimensional images, surface roughness parameters, etc.


9) Shutdown: After scanning, click the "Automatic Drive" button in the motor control window. When the number of steps to drive away reaches 3,000 steps, it will stop. Exit the real-time software, turn off the power of the control box and the computer, and put on the dust cover.
