Industrial online pH meter and how to use it in mineral processing plants
The online detection of pH value in flotation slurry has always been a difficult problem that troubles the beneficiation process. The key to using a pH meter well is reasonable selection, appropriate installation, and careful maintenance. This method is effective and has universality for other similar flotation operations. The pH value of flotation slurry is an important factor in the beneficiation process, which is related to the quality of beneficiation indicators. From the perspective of existing problems, the main manifestations are: short electrode service life, large errors, poor stability, and large maintenance. However, pH detection technology and products have become relatively mature, and the measurement effect is very good under laboratory conditions. However, many online pH detection processes in mineral processing production are difficult to achieve satisfactory results, and even cannot be used normally. Some mineral processing plants can only keep a distance from online pH detection, and some even use pH test strips instead of pH meters for measurement. The author believes that the difficulty of online detection of pH value in slurry is mainly due to the improper selection, maintenance, and technical measures of pH meters by the application side, in addition to objective reasons. To make good use of pH meters in mineral processing, it is necessary to understand the principle, structure, selection, maintenance, etc. of pH meters, and take reasonable measures according to the on-site situation of mineral processing.
