Infrared thermometer selection tips, GVDA provides advice
1. Measure the temperature of the workpiece, monitor the quality of the production, stabilize the technical process, and ensure the quality of the product.
2. Measure the temperature of a sample, study its temperature changes and trends under certain conditions, and complete some kind of scientific research or development.
Core focus temperature range:
①The upper limit is 900℃→long wave 8-14μm model, such as: IN 5 Plus series.
②The lower limit is at least 700-900℃ → short wave is at least 2.3μm, such as IGA 320/23, 140 series.
IMPAC infrared thermometer can measure temperature range: -40…3500℃

Handheld portable→such as: impac 8 series
Material of the object being tested:
Graphite/Ceramic:
(1) High temperature, above 1000℃: short wave model.
(2) Medium and low temperature, below 900℃: long wave model
Metal:
(1) Smooth surface → According to the temperature measurement range:
(2) The surface is rough, coated, spray-painted, coated or electroplated → the conventional temperature is not high, 8-14μm can be considered, such as IN 5 plus series.
(3) Molten metal → two-color models, such as ISR 6, ISR 320.
Conventional medium and low temperature non-metals, such as plastics, liquids, rubber, paper, asphalt, wood, textiles, and food:
Long wave 8-14μm models, such as IN 300.
Glass:
(1) Thinner 1mm, higher temperature
(2) Thickness less than 1mm, medium and low temperature measurement
(3) If the thickness of the glass is thicker, such as liquid glass, short-wave single-color or two-color models can be considered based on specific circumstances.
plastic:
(1) Film PE and PP with thickness less than 30μm→IPE 140/34.
(2) Thicker → 8-14μm model.
Explosive gas:
Generally fast speed requirements → 740 series.
There are other objects to be measured, and this depends on the specific situation.
Speed of measured object:
①Static→Select according to the specific requirements for sampling rate.
②Sports→Choose a fast response speed, such as 1ms, etc., or a two-color model.
