Infrared thermometer usage instructions

What other instructions are needed for using an infrared thermometer? Just hold it and use it directly? Yes, the infrared thermometer is designed to be lightweight, easy to use, and can be used without training. But recently, a user asked a very strange question to the customer service of Wuhan Yongsheng Technology: When using a handheld infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of an oil tank, will the red infrared light burn the oil? Our customer service replied that definitely not. The handheld infrared thermometer is a non-contact measurement and very safe. The red one is not infrared, but for aiming. From this communication, it can be seen that some users still lack understanding of infrared thermometers. Therefore, it is necessary for us to introduce some common knowledge about using infrared thermometers here to increase users' understanding of infrared thermometers.

1, Infrared thermometer passively receives infrared energy radiated from the target surface and then measures the temperature. The red laser aiming point is not infrared and does not have radioactivity like X-rays;

2, Infrared thermometers can only measure the temperature of the target surface and cannot measure the internal temperature of the target, and do not have penetration function;

3, When infrared thermometers are used to measure bright or smooth metal surfaces, significant measurement errors may occur;

4, The temperature measuring point of an infrared thermometer is not the point targeted by the laser, usually located at a lower position;

5, When using an infrared thermometer for temperature measurement, the measured target should fill the field of view of the infrared thermometer;

6, Choose a dual color infrared thermometer for measurement in environments with dust, water vapor, smoke, etc;

7, Infrared thermometers do not measure as far as they want. They need to determine the measurable distance based on the size of the target being measured, using a distance system ratio of D to S.
