Introduction of Fluke 5700A Multimeter Calibrator

This is Fluke's extensively tested, extremely reliable, high-accuracy calibrator that has become a worldwide calibration standard, the 5700A is a great value and can provide coverage from 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 digit multi-purpose calibrators accuracy of the table. Technical indicators can be given at 99% and 95% confidence levels. The 5700A can express uncertainty at different confidence levels that one chooses. You can use the conservative 99% confidence level technical indicators traditionally published by Fluke; you can also use the more aggressive 95% confidence level technical indicators recommended in many international standard procedures. In addition to allowing you to trade less risk for better technical indicators, technical indicators with a 95% confidence level are also easier to measure and compare. For any output, just press the SPEC key to get these two specifications.

Compatibility Through the process control interface, the 5700A can emulate a 5100B or 5200B calibrator. This allows the 5700A to replace these older calibrators in automated test systems with little or no software changes. In addition, the 5700A is compatible with, and can be used with, the 5725A amplifier, 5220A transconductance amplifier, and 5205A or 5215A precision power amplifier.

Simplified Support with High Confidence The 5700A features Protocalibration. In order to calibrate all ranges and functions of the instrument to the rated specifications, only 3 original standards - 10V DC reference standard and 1Ω and 10KΩ resistance reference standards are required. The front panel of the instrument can prompt the operator to make the correct connection and tell the operator what to enter at each step. The whole process is controlled by the calibrator and takes about 1 hour, compared to several hours with traditional calibration methods. During this calibration process, the assignment of the external prototype standard is passed into a large multidimensional parameter matrix within the calibrator. The calibrator itself performs the metrological functions that were previously performed manually, such as establishing ratios, making comparisons, and controlling the measurement process.

For confidence, the 5700A is able to check each function against its own internal standards to ensure that everything inside is working as intended. These inspection results can be printed out or downloaded to a computer for analysis. There are now thousands of 5700A calibrators in use around the world; coupled with independent research work by several leading national standards bodies, all of this proves that prototype calibration enables fast, easy, and economical calibration. And this calibration is done with enough confidence that your instrument is working reliably as expected between calibrations.
