Introduction to Maintenance of Biological Microscopes
(1) Maintenance of mechanical systems: After use, wipe clean with a clean fine cloth and regularly apply some neutral lubricating grease to the sliding parts. If there is serious pollution, it can be washed with gasoline before wiping dry. But do not use alcohol or ether to clean, as these reagents can corrode machinery and paint, causing damage.
(2) Overall maintenance: The biological microscope should be placed in a dry, cool, dust-free, and corrosion-free place. After use, it should be immediately wiped clean and covered with a dustproof breathable cover or placed in a box.
(3) Maintenance of optical system: After use, gently wipe the eyepiece and objective lens with a clean and soft silk cloth. When there are stains that cannot be wiped off, a long fiber degreased cotton or a clean fine cotton cloth can be dipped in a little dimethyl benzene or lens cleaning solution (3 parts alcohol: 1 part ether) to wipe. Then dry with a clean and soft silk cloth or blow dry with a hair dryer. It should be noted that the cleaning solution must not penetrate into the interior of the objective lens, otherwise it may damage the objective lens. The condenser (XSP-13A, 16A models only) and reflector need to be wiped clean after use.
In summary, for the maintenance of biological microscopes, as long as dust, moisture, heat, and corrosion prevention are achieved. After use, clean and wipe thoroughly in a timely manner, and regularly add neutral lubricating grease to the relevant parts. For some components with complex structures and precise assembly, without certain professional knowledge, skills, and special tools, they cannot be disassembled without authorization to avoid damaging the components.
A biological microscope is a precision optical instrument commonly used in biological teaching experiments, consisting of two parts: a mechanical system and an optical system.
The mechanical system includes: the transmission part of the mirror tube, the rotation part of the objective lens, the stage, the conversion part of the pressure clip and the light shield, the rotation part of the mirror frame and base, etc.
