Introduction to the Features of Night Vision Devices

1. Detector resolution

The RNO MC640 single cylinder infrared night vision Thermographic camera uses a detector with an uncooled sensor (microbolometer), so the detector does not need to install a refrigeration device in the system, so it is small in size, light in weight, and low in power consumption. In addition, they can provide a wider spectral response and longer operating time compared to cooled photon detectors. Therefore, non refrigeration technology can provide users with highly sensitive sensors with lower costs and higher reliability.

Everyone knows that the resolution directly affects the detail of the image or icon displayed on the screen. The higher the resolution of the image, the finer the screen, the clearer the image, and the better the viewing effect. So the resolution is an important parameter for selecting a thermal imager.

There are many resolutions for infrared thermal imagers, with relatively high-end products having pixels of 640x480, mid-range infrared thermal imagers having pixels of 320x240, and low-end infrared thermal imagers having pixels of 160x120. When shooting the same object at the same distance, the higher the pixel size of the infrared thermal imager, the clearer the obtained infrared thermal image. The higher the pixel, the higher the price of an infrared thermal imager. The MC640 has an ultra-high resolution of 640x480, and is one of the few high-end single barrel infrared night vision Thermographic camera on the market.

2. Objective lens aperture and magnification

The lens is a very important component in thermal imagers, and the viewing effect and field of view are all related to the size of the lens. Generally, lenses on the market range from 14mm to 75mm. The lens of a thermal imager is a professional lens, not the type used in traditional night vision systems or ordinary telescopes. When purchasing lenses for thermal imagers from factories, they are purchased based on the weight in grams. For example, the cost of F44 lenses would be around 5000 yuan. The cost of small lenses such as F19 is only a few hundred yuan. A larger lens would be more expensive.

The MC640 has a 75mm ultra large aperture objective lens, allowing you to have a wide and unrestricted field of view when viewing the target. The digital amplification can reach up to 16 times, not only shortening the distance of the viewing target, but also enabling clear recognition. Among similar thermal imagers, this machine has the largest lens.

3. Built-in LCD screen

The MC640 is equipped with a top-notch OLED 800x600 ultra clear LCD screen, a large screen, ultra high resolution, and clearer observation effect than ordinary thermal imagers. Even when used in rainy, snowy, foggy, and completely dark weather environments, it will still give you a clear view and make the night seem like day.
