Introduction to the selection and use of electric soldering iron when soldering tin wire

The selection of electric soldering iron is crucial for the welding effect of solder wire. Because the soldering wire is mainly melted by the temperature of the soldering iron head to achieve the final welding purpose.

1. To achieve good soldering effect, the most suitable soldering iron head must be selected for soldering. It is particularly important to choose a suitable soldering head based on the design of the circuit board and the temperature sensitivity of different products. A suitable soldering iron head can achieve twice the result with half the effort in soldering the solder wire.

2. The welding of solder wire must use an electric soldering iron with good thermal properties. A soldering iron head with good heat resistance can reduce the temperature of solder wire welding, especially for the consideration of heat resistance of electronic components and the requirements for safe operation, which is particularly important.

3. Use the soldering iron head provided by the manufacturer. The iron head may experience oxidation after use for a period of time, and it is necessary to replace the soldering iron head. It is emphasized that the replaced soldering iron head must be the same soldering iron as the original configuration of the electric soldering iron. This can reduce various faults of the solder wire during the welding process and improve safety.

4. The soldering wire must be adjusted to the temperature of the soldering iron before welding. We select the welding temperature according to the characteristics of the welding products, and then adjust the temperature of the soldering iron tip. We cannot determine the temperature of the soldering iron tip according to the instrument of the soldering iron tip, because the instrument may be damaged, resulting in errors. So before soldering the solder wire, a thermometer should be used to test the temperature of the soldering iron tip before welding.

The welding effect of solder wire is also related to the frequent maintenance of electric soldering iron. After using an electric soldering iron for a period of time, it may produce poor conditions such as oxidation, graying, or blackening, which can affect the soldering performance of the solder wire. So we should regularly clean the soldering iron with a sponge dipped in flux to remove the oxides on the soldering iron, and if necessary, replace the soldering iron head. Also, if there is no soldering wire for more than 10 minutes, the power should be cut off.
