Introduction to the use method and process of hot air soldering station

 

A hot air soldering station is a hand tool commonly used in SMT processing. It melts the solder (usually tin wire) by heating it, so as to achieve the purpose of soldering or separating electronic components. The hot air soldering station is mainly composed of an air pump, a linear circuit board, an airflow stabilizer, an outer housing, a handle assembly and an air gun. Correctly mastering its use method can greatly improve the efficiency of SMT patch processing and proofing work. If it is not used properly, it may burn the entire circuit board.

1. How to use the hot air soldering station

The method of using the hot air soldering station is as follows

(1) Rotate the wind power and temperature gears of the hot air soldering station according to the actual situation. Remember that the temperature and wind power should not be too high, so as not to burn the chips or components. Generally, the temperature is selected at 3rd gear, and the wind power is adjusted at 4th gear.

(2) Plug the power cord of the hot air soldering station into the socket, and turn on the power switch. At this time, you will hear the fan of the hot air soldering station start to "buzz", indicating that the soldering station is warming up, and you can start using it after the "buzzing" sound stops.

(3) Aim the nozzle of the air gun at 2~3cm above the chip to be desoldered. Heat evenly along the solder joints around the chip. When the solder joints melt, remove the chip with tweezers.

(4) Align the chip with the part to be soldered, and pay attention to whether the pins are aligned with the PCB pads, and whether the functional areas are placed correctly, so as to avoid reverse connection of components. Use a hot air soldering station to heat the solder joint until the chip is in good contact with the solder joint.

(5) In order to ensure that the solder joints are in good contact with the main board, use an electric soldering iron to repair the solder joints after soldering, and separate the short circuits.

(6) After the welding is completed, first turn off the power switch of the hot air soldering station. At this time, the fan of the hot air soldering station is still working. After the fan stops rotating, unplug the power plug.
