It is easy to check the breakpoint of the multimeter, but it is difficult to determine the breakpoint. This problem teaches you a way to solve it.

The multimeter is the preferred tool for electricians to troubleshoot. If you are used to it, you can obviously not use the multimeter when you encounter a fault. If you don’t have a meter around you, you will feel uneasy. This is also one of the professional habits. Since the multimeter is an electrician’s maintenance tool, then we We must find a way to maximize his potential. The following is a method of using a multimeter that is not known to too many people. Share it. I hope it can be helpful to colleagues who read this article when they work. Knowing this method The old master can be completely ignored.

Open circuit is also commonly known as open circuit. It is one of the faults that electricians often encounter. It is very common in work. It is also easy to confirm with a multimeter. Use a multimeter to measure the beginning and end of a section of wire with the resistance gear, and you will know immediately whether it is on or off. Electricians know how to do it, so the question is, if we use a multimeter to measure a section of wire and find out that there is an open circuit in the middle, and we don’t have other measuring instruments at hand, how can we accurately locate the location of the open circuit in the wire? It is impossible to cut and search the wires one by one, which also loses the original meaning of troubleshooting, so we can actually locate the breakpoint of the wire very quickly when we only use a multimeter.

When we use the resistance file to confirm that a section of wire is broken, we first energize the wire, and then use the low voltage file of the multimeter. Remember that you can only use the gear for measuring AC voltage, and use a digital meter. It is generally recommended to use 20 of the digital meter. The AC range of volts, too large or too small is not conducive to fault judgment. When searching, hold the metal tip of the black test lead with one hand, move the red test lead along the energized wire, and watch the digital change on the watch screen. If it moves to a position, the watch If the number on the wire becomes much smaller, or changes suddenly and sharply, then it can be determined that this point is the approximate location of the breakpoint of the wire, and then make a mark, strip the wire after power off, connect the wire, and then complete the troubleshooting.

It should be noted here that this method cannot be used for shielded wires or covered wires with metal shells inside. In addition, the digital meter must use a brand meter. This method is recommended.
