Maintenance of the metallographic microscope stage and storage of the microscope
According to usage requirements, the stage of the metallographic microscope does not require high mechanical strength, but the flatness of the stage and the verticality of the optical system axis are highly demanded. Otherwise, even if the performance of the objective lens is good, it will still affect the uniformity of the field of view clarity. To this end, it is necessary to avoid placing samples weighing more than 2 kilograms on the stage, to prevent the stage from being impacted, and not to use hammers or other objects to strike the table to prevent deformation and reduce instrument performance. Do not place heavy objects on the stage for a long time. When the microscope is not in use, remove the heavier samples to prevent damage to the lifting mechanism. The moving parts should be regularly lubricated with an appropriate amount of grease.
When using a microscope in cold seasons, sometimes you may feel that the movement of the stage is not flexible enough, which is caused by the cooling and solidification of lubricating oil or the increase in viscosity. At this time, you can drop gasoline into the four small holes on the stage, slowly dissolve the grease, and then remove the stage and slide plate, clean the oil stains with gasoline, and replace them with suitable lubricating oil to eliminate this fault.
Storage in use
The microscope should be kept by a dedicated person. The storage room should be chosen as a separate room that is relatively clean, well lit, and dry.
It is best to place the metallographic microscope in the instrument cabinet and divide it into several grids according to the variety* The lower floor is better for placing desiccants (such as silica gel, calcium chloride, charcoal, etc.), and there should be ventilation holes between each floor. The cabinet should be at least 0.5 meters away from the wall and 0.2 meters away from the ground. A registration form for storing instruments should be hung on the cabinet. Large and medium-sized metallographic microscopes should be placed on dedicated tables, tightly covered with glass, and filled with moisture absorbing agents.
Before storage, wipe and apply a small amount of rust proof oil to areas that have been repainted or oxidized.
Microscopes should not be stored in packaging boxes (transport boxes) for a long time (more than one month).
Due to climate change, it is necessary to regularly inspect, wipe, and ventilate, and take timely measures if problems are found.
Storage rules and requirements
1) Flammable materials, chemicals, acids, alkalis, lubricants, and batteries are prohibited from being stored in the warehouse.
2) Before storing the metallographic microscope, a technical inspection should be conducted to determine its technical condition, in order to take necessary measures during storage. Instruments stored in the warehouse should be wiped clean, and if there are areas of paint peeling or deterioration, protective oil should be applied.
3) Microscopes should be classified and stored in different levels, and a certain distance should be maintained between microscopes for ventilation. The placement of the microscope should be easy to place and retrieve. Stay away from sources of moisture and heat.
4) The warehouse temperature should be kept between 8-25 ℃ as much as possible, the relative humidity should be below 65-70%, and the temperature difference between day and night should not exceed 6 ℃. And should grasp the timing of ventilation and carry out ventilation in a timely manner. When the relative humidity is greater than 70%, a moisture absorbing agent should be placed in the warehouse and regularly inspected and replaced
5) When there is a large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the warehouse, the microscope entering the warehouse should be placed in the room outside the warehouse for several hours before opening the packaging box. When transporting, be careful and handle with care.
6) When distributing microscopes, they must be stored and packaged in a room outside the warehouse in advance.
