Measurement Techniques of Digital Display Electric Pen
Digital display type measuring pen is also known as induction type measuring pen.
This type of electric pen can not only test whether an object is charged, but also display the approximate voltage range.
Some digital display measuring pens can detect the location of insulation wire breakage.
How to use a digital measuring pen:
1. Direct measurement method.
Place the probe of the measuring pen directly in contact with the measured object to determine if it is charged.
When using the direct measurement method, place the metal probe of the measuring pen in contact with the measured object, while holding down the direct measurement button (DIRECT). If the measured object is charged, the indicator light on the measuring pen will light up and the display screen will display the value of the measured voltage.
Generally, the measuring pen can display 12V, 36V, 55V, 110V, and 220V.
2. Induction measurement method.
Inductive measurement method refers to a measurement method that uses voltage induction to determine whether the object being measured is charged by approaching the probe of the measuring pen but not touching it.
If the wire is live, the display screen of the measuring pen displays a voltage symbol. If the indicator light for a broken wire in the middle of the wire goes out and the voltage symbol disappears, it indicates that there is a broken wire in the current position.
The induction measurement method can identify the location of broken wires in insulated wires, and can also determine the live and zero wires of insulated wires.
