Metallographic analyzers and their matching microscopes require maintenance
Metallographic analyzers and the matched metallographic microscopes require maintenance during daily operation. Their maintenance requirements are the same as those for general optical instruments. They shall be kept in a cool, dry place free from dust, acids, alkalis and vapors, and covered with a protective cover when not in use.
All lenses of the metallographic image analyzer have been calibrated and must not be disassembled by users. If stains appear on the lens surface, gently wipe it with degreasing cotton slightly moistened with alcohol mixture (mixing ratio 7:3). Take care not to let alcohol seep into the objective lens to prevent lens de-bonding. Dust on the lens surface can be blown off with an air blower or lightly brushed away with a clean soft brush.
For cleaning mechanical components, non-corrosive lubricant should be applied. When applying oil, take special care to avoid touching optical parts, especially objective lenses. After use, the microscope objectives and eyepieces should be stored in a container with desiccant (user-supplied). The manufacturer reserves the right to change eyepiece specifications and accessories without prior notice. Put the tube cap on the lens barrel to prevent dust contamination. After using the 100× objective, immediately wipe off oil with soft fine cloth or degreasing cotton moistened with the mixed solution.
Procedure for replacing the bulb of the microscope for metallographic analyzer
Before replacing the bulb, unplug the power cord of the instrument. Wait until the bulb cools down, then lay the microscope on its side and open the lamp house cover at the bottom of the microscope base for bulb replacement.
Do not touch the bulb directly with your fingers during replacement, as grease from fingerprints will contaminate the bulb surface. Do not turn on the microscope power supply before the lamp house cover is closed. After bulb replacement, check the filament center; slightly adjust the bulb vertically and horizontally until the filament light spot is roughly centered on the aperture diaphragm.
