Microscope routine maintenance and instrument maintenance

1. Remove dust with a soft brush or gauze;

More stubborn stains such as fingerprints, grease, etc., can be gently wiped off with a clean soft cotton cloth and lens paper dipped in a mixture of absolute ethanol and ether.

If you want to wipe the immersion oil from the oil immersion objective lens, you should use lens paper, soft cotton cloth or gauze, dipped in a mixture of absolute ethanol and ether and wipe it off gently.

Do not clean the entrance lenses at the bottom of the binocular tube or the prism surfaces inside the eyepiece tube with xylene.

Both pure alcohol and xylene are flammable, so be careful when turning the power switch on or off.

2. Cleaning of painted or plastic surfaces:

Avoid using any organic solution (such as alcohol, ethanol, ether, thinner, etc.) to clean the painted or plastic surface of the instrument. We recommend using a silicon cloth, more stubborn dirt can be cleaned with a soft detergent. Plastic surfaces should only be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with water.

3. Replacement of light bulbs

Use a coin to loosen the fastening screw of the lamp cover, pull up the lamp cover to remove the bad bulb, replace it with a new bulb, put down the lamp cover and tighten the screw.

4. When the microscope is not in use

Cover with a dust cover and store in a dry place to avoid mold.

We especially recommend storing objectives and eyepieces in a container such as a desiccator with desiccant.

5. Periodic inspection

To maintain the performance of the microscope, periodic inspections are recommended
