Multimeter wiring and measurement method
1. The wiring should be correct
The jacks or binding posts on the multisurface board are marked with polarity. When used for DC measurement, care must be taken not to reverse the positive and negative polarities; when measuring the diode resistance with a multimeter, that is, when judging the polarity of the diode, it should be noted that the "+" jack is connected to the negative pole of the included battery.
When measuring current, the multimeter should be connected in series with the circuit; when measuring voltage, the multimeter should be connected in parallel with the circuit.
2. The measurement gear must be correct
The measurement gear includes the selection of the measurement object and the selection of the two parts. Before the measurement, the corresponding gear should be selected according to the rough estimation of the measurement object and its size.
Since the multimeter has many measurement objects and multiple ranges, you must pay attention to the adjustment of the gear when using it, otherwise the meter may be seriously damaged. For example, when measuring voltage, if the measuring gear is placed in the ohm or current gear, and the low-range gear is used when measuring large voltage and high current, the meter may be damaged.
3. The measurement of resistance shall not be operated with electricity
When measuring resistance, it is not allowed to carry out under the condition of electrification, otherwise it will not only affect the accuracy of the measurement result, but also may burn out the meter.
4. It is not allowed to switch the range with power on
The switching of current and voltage ranges should not be carried out under the condition of electrification, especially under the condition of high voltage and high current, so as not to burn out the switch.
