(1) Open the battery cover and install a 9V battery.
(2) Turn on the power to select the desired response time and sound level frequency weighting. If the sound source consists of short bursts or only need to obtain the highest value of the sound, please adjust the response to fast. To measure general sound, please switch to slow gear. The A-sound level frequency weighting is suitable for measuring the general noise level, and the C-sound level frequency weighting is suitable for measuring the sound level of the acoustic material.
(3) Select a range.
(4) Hold the meter in your hand or fix it on a tripod, point the microphone at the sound source to be measured, and the sound level reading will appear on the display.
(5) When the MAX (maximum hold) mode is selected, the meter will display and record the maximum reading.
(6) When HOLD (Data Hold) mode is selected, the meter will display and record the current reading.
(7) Turn off the meter and remove the battery when not in use for a long time.
