Operating Steps and Precautions for Using a Stereomicroscope

 

Stereoscopic microscope is a small microscope with macroscopic magnification, which can be used for observation, photography, and analysis. There are also excellent research grade stereoscopic microscopes (with higher magnification and better objective lenses), generally magnifying around 6-200 times. Stereoscopic microscopes are generally only used for fixed analysis, and are not very accurate for qualitative measurements. It is necessary to know the determined body magnification ratio and cooperate with software or eyepiece measuring scales to complete it.


The specific steps for using Leica microscope are as follows:
(1) After installing the microscope, ensure that the power supply voltage is consistent with the rated voltage of the stereo microscope before plugging in the power plug, turning on the power switch, and selecting the lighting mode;


(2) Based on the observed specimen, select a suitable plate (when observing transparent specimens, use a frosted glass plate; when observing opaque specimens, use a black and white plate), insert it into the hole of the base plate, and lock it tightly;


(3) Loosen the fastening screws on the focusing slide and adjust the height of the mirror body to achieve a working distance that is roughly consistent with the magnification of the selected objective lens. After adjustment, lock the bracket and tightly fasten the safety ring against the focusing bracket;


(4) Install the eyepiece, first loosen the screw on the eyepiece tube, and then tighten this screw after installing the eyepiece (be especially careful not to touch the surface of the lens lens when placing the eyepiece into the eyepiece tube of the stereo microscope);


(5) Adjust the pupil distance. When the user observes a field of view through two eyepieces that is not a circular field of view, the prism box should be turned to change the exit pupil distance of the eyepiece tube, so that a completely overlapping circular field of view can be observed (indicating that the pupil distance has been adjusted);


(6) Observe the specimen (focus on the specimen). First, adjust the visual circle on the left eye tube to the 0 mark position. Normally, first observe from the right eyepiece tube (i.e. fixed eyepiece tube), rotate the zoom tube (when there is a zoom device model) to the * high magnification position, turn the focusing handwheel to focus on the specimen until the image of the specimen is clear, and then rotate the zoom tube to the * low magnification position. At this time, observe with the left eyepiece tube. If it is not clear, adjust the visual circle on the program tube along the axis until the image of the specimen is clear, and then observe its focusing effect with both eyes;


(7) At the end of the observation, turn off the power, remove the specimen, and tightly cover the microscope with a dust cover.
