1. How to measure DC voltage?
Answer: First, you need to set the coupling mode to DC, adjust the vertical gear to an appropriate value according to the approximate range, and then compare the displacement of the offset line and the channel mark.

2. Users reported that the amplitude exceeds the screen range when measuring 220V mains power? How to measure the phase difference of three-phase power supply?
Answer: The maximum input peak-to-peak voltage of the DS5000 series is 400V. According to the effective value conversion peak-to-peak formula, the 220V mains power exceeds 400V peak-to-peak voltage, and the amplitude exceeds the screen range. It is normal. When using an oscilloscope to measure the phase shift of a three-phase power supply, you can set the trigger source to the mains, use one channel to measure the A-B waveform first, then store it as a reference waveform, and then use a probe to connect B-C. At this time, the phase shift can be measured.

3. What is confusion suppression?
Answer: Confusion is a condition caused by the frequency collected by the oscilloscope being lower than twice the maximum frequency of the actual signal. Confusion suppression is specially designed to prevent the occurrence of confusion. Confusion suppression can identify the maximum frequency of the signal and collect the signal at 2 times the maximum frequency.

4. How to capture non-periodic signals?
Answer: ①Set the trigger level to the required value. ②. Click the main control button SINGLE, and the machine starts to wait. If a certain signal reaches the set trigger level, it will be sampled once and displayed on the screen. This function can be used to easily capture accidental events, such as large sudden glitches: set the trigger level to just above the normal signal level, click the SINGLE button, and when a glitch occurs, the machine will automatically trigger and Record the waveforms for a period of time before and after the trigger. Drag the trigger position mark line to obtain negative delay triggers of different lengths, making it easier to observe the waveform before the burr occurs.

5. How to observe the noise of low-voltage DC power supply?
Answer: ① Connect the oscilloscope probe between channel A1 (or A2) and the measured point. ②. Set the trigger source to A1 or A2 (must be consistent with the actual input channel of the measured signal). ③. Click the A1 or A2 button and select the coupling mode as AC (alternating current) coupling. ④. Adjust the sampling rate and vertical sensitivity until a satisfactory display is obtained.

6. In what situations can the oscilloscope acquisition method be used?
Answer: To observe a single signal, please use the real-time sampling method. To observe high-frequency periodic signals, you can use the equivalent sampling method. If you want to observe the envelope of the signal to avoid confusion, please use the peak detection method. If you want to reduce random noise in the displayed signal, please select the average sampling method. The number of averages can be selected. Observe the low frequency signal and select the rolling mode method. If you want the displayed waveform to be close to the effect of an analog oscilloscope, please select the analog acquisition method.

7. What is the relationship between triggering and waveform acquisition?
Answer: For different types of oscilloscopes, the oscilloscopes have different capture methods, and the relationship between triggering and waveform acquisition is different. If it is the equivalent time sampling mode of a sampling oscilloscope or a real-time oscilloscope, the acquisition of a waveform requires multiple triggers to complete. For the real-time sampling mode of the real-time oscilloscope, if the waveform is triggered once, the waveform will definitely be collected once. If the waveform is not triggered, the waveform may also be collected. This is the triggered AUTO mode. (There are three trigger modes, one is AUTO, the waveform will be refreshed without triggering, but the waveform will be unstable on the screen, the other is NORMAL, it will be refreshed only when triggered, and the last one is SINGLE, the first trigger capture Waveform, the waveform will no longer be captured in the future.).

8. Can RIGOL products automatically generate EXCEL tables from data saved after waveforms are saved?
Answer: Yes. Ultrascope software can automatically save the downloaded waveform data into an Excel table file format. RVO virtual instrument does not have the function of automatically generating Excel tables in the software, but we provide a conversion tool (free download on RIGOL's official homepage, software name: DatKit for RVO3000&4000 Series). You can use this tool to convert RVO saved in the "*.dat" file format to the "*.txt" text file format. Modify the txt to xls to save the data in an Excel table.

9. After collecting the signal, the signal waveform does not appear on the screen. How to deal with it?
Answer: You can check and handle according to the following steps: 1. Check whether the probe is normally connected to the signal connection line; 2. Check whether the signal connection line is normally connected to the BNC (i.e. channel connector); 3. Check whether the probe is connected to the object under test Normal connection; 4. Check whether there is a signal generated by the object under test (the channel with signal generation can be connected to the channel with the problem to determine the problem). 5. Collect the signal again.
